Balmichael Glamping is a small farm-holding with rustic, sustainable and stylish self-catering glamping accommodation near Shiskine, on the Isle of Arran. Accommodation comprises of three barrel pods and two safari lodges, catering for a range of group sizes with dog-friendly options. Couples, families and groups will find Balmichael Glamping the perfect place to unwind and explore Arran whilst connecting with nature.
Balmichael Glamping was established in 2020 by Emma & Tom who aim to provide the perfect island getaway. Based on a small farm-holding, alongside Arran Alpacas, the site maximises its position nestled amongst mountains with west-facing views over the Machrie Moor to the Kintyre Peninsula; the perfect spot for watching the sun set. The alpacas and animals on site are a favourite with guests (everyone is welcome to join in evening feeding time), as is the fantastic play area for children. The very popular alpaca treks can be booked via Arran Alpacas website. Accommodation has been designed for couples and families in the form of wooden barrel pods and canvas safari lodges. Both feature private washing facilities with hot water showers, sink and compost toilets, as well as outdoor dining space, BBQ fire pits and free WIFI. Barrel Pods: Three quirky, cosy barrel pods are available year round. They sleep 4 in a double bed and two foldaway single beds. At a minimum 2 night stay (off-peak), the pods are well-equipped with microwave, toaster, kettle and cool box. Each pod features a private wash hut and an outdoor kitchen area. One pod is dog friendly. Guests can opt to hire the wood-fired hot tub located along the field for private use during their stay. Safari Lodges: Two safari lodges are available between March and October and can be booked for Fri-Mon or Mon-Friday stays. One lodge sleeps up to 6, one sleeps up to 8, and both are dog-friendly. With separate bedrooms, each features open-plan kitchen, living and dining areas. Roll up lodge fronts to spectacular views and relax in private wood-fired hot tubs available at each lodge. Balmichael Glamping has a strong green ethos; this reflects in much of the core design of the site. Emma & Tom are friendly, welcoming hosts, always happy to help and provide advice to fulfil adventures on Arran. Living on site with their own children, they hope a home-from-home is found and happy memories are made at Balmichael Glamping.Ayrshire Connect
