Ayrshire Connect
The King's Arms Community Pub and Hub is a friendly, welcoming place where villagers can meet with friends at any time of day. When we re-open, our focus will be on quality food and drink for local people, visitors and passing trade.
The King's Arms was taken into community ownership in September 2020 following a very successful community consultation and major fundraising efforts. It is linked to the Ballantrae Trust and run by Ballantrae Community Pub Ltd. As well as serving great food and drink, there are public areas to host social gatherings, family celebrations and small events. In addition to this we hope to develop and / or repurpose other underutilised areas of the building and we aim to run the business in an environmentally and socially conscious way. Letting bedrooms help to support the financial sustainability of the Kings Arms. In the future we hope that training opportunities will provide the chance to gain basic qualifications and experience in catering and hospitality, to help prepare trainees to access work at other hotels and tourism-focused businesses in the area. A Visitor Information Point in the foyer signposts what visitors can do locally.Ayrshire Connect
